Hello everyone! Very happy to meet you all today in ‘Anitha Pushpavanam Kuppusamy YouTube channel’. In this episode, I’m going to discuss thyroid problems as many of you have been asking for it. We go to doctors to get treated for diseases, but we tend to forget that there are several home remedies that can cure them. Thyroid affects women more than it affects men. I wouldn’t call it a disease, because every ailment is curable as long as we train our mind to believe it and do certain exercises. Thyroid is a small, butterfly-shaped gland in the front of your neck. Thyroid hormones control the rate of many activities in your body. Sometimes, the thyroid makes too much or too little of these hormones. The 2 types of thyroid disorder are hypothyroidism and hyperthyroidism.

Thyroid is controlled by a small pea-sized gland called pituitary gland that’s located at the base of the brain. It tells your thyroid how much hormone it should make and release. When one or more of these hormones is not produced properly, the body’s normal functions can be affected. Symptoms of hypothyroidism are brittle nails, hair loss, weight gain, puffy face, sleep deprivation, slow heart rate, irritability, forgetfulness, oversleeping, cold sensitivity, and fatigue. Symptoms of hyperthyroidism are hypertension, hyperactivity, hair loss, weight loss, oversleeping, palpitations, and excess sweating. Common symptoms of hypothyroidism and hyperthyroidism include hair loss, depression and forgetfulness. If you find your kids exhibiting symptoms of the disorder, take them to a doctor for diagnosis and take the prescribed medications regularly. I heeded the advice of my doctor and took pills for about a year in empty stomach, did some exercises and I was cured.

Thyroid causes hoarse voice, swelling or enlargement in the neck, trouble swallowing, and trouble talking. When you see such symptoms, consulting a doctor for diagnosis is vital. Take your medications and recheck for thyroid after a year. Now, let me tell you some home remedies for thyroid. After brushing your teeth, in empty stomach, gargle with gingelly oil and spit it out. Next, take the prescribed pills. After a while, swallow a spoon of coconut oil in empty stomach. Make a drink out of Triphala powder. There’s no better remedy than Triphala (the three fruits) for thyroid disorder. I’ll post the link to my earlier video about it in the description box. Include walnuts and iodine-rich crystal salt in your diet. Dissolve crystal salt in warm water and gargle with it every morning, noon and night. Iodine will reduce the impact of thyroid. Foods to avoid with hypothyroidism are cabbage, radish, broccoli, and cauliflower. Eat greens; seafood as it contains iodine and selenium. Avoid meat, junk food, and fried food. Follow this for a while and you’ll see a noticeable difference in your condition.

Let me know about it in the comments section. Exercise regularly. Go walking; a walk on a beach is highly recommended. Do breathing exercises. I was cured of my thyroid in just a year by following all these. Pranayama, the practice of breath control in yoga, is vastly beneficial. It keeps us young, active and healthy. Prana is a vital energy in the body responsible for life or life force. For one year, I suffered greatly from not being able to sing. After regularly following the exercises suggested by doctor, my voice gradually became all right. Drink lemon juice. If you’re susceptible to cold, use warm water instead of cold water. Let me show you the exercises: sit up straight, slowly bend your neck and bring it back up. Repeat it 10 times. Next, slowly turn your neck from left to right and right to left.

Repeat it 10 times. Spend about 20 minutes for this. You can see for yourself how relaxed you are. Let’s move on to breathing exercise. Take a deep, slow breath from your belly and exhale slowly. Learn to do this properly as breathing exercises are necessary for a healthy body and mind. Inhale less than you exhale. It will rid your body of toxicity and lengthen your lifespan. Tortoises live longer because they inhale less air. I’ll talk about extending lifespan in detail on another episode. This exercise is helpful in curing both hypothyroidism and hyperthyroidism disorders. Consultation with your doctor is still required. Other symptoms include teen acne, hair loss and poor eyesight. If such symptoms are exhibited by girls as soon as they hit puberty, check for thyroid because that’s when hormone secretions change. If left untreated, it might later lead to abortion and difficulty in conceiving. Most ailments have natural remedies similar to this. Keep following this to improve your health. Those with hyperthyroidism should reduce intake of salt and avoid seafood.

Those with thyroid problems should include boiled veggies and greens in your diet. Follow this practice staunchly until you’re cured.
